Reactive co-produced a social experiment that tested New Yorkers if they would recognise their loved ones in the street - dressed up as homeless people. Becoming blind to the homeless, who are forced to live on the streets, is a common phenomenon all around the world. So what do you think would happen if those we walk past every day were family members? Siblings, spouses, and relatives – all the ones we claim to care about the most - but dressed to appear homeless? Would you even notice them? The experiment is for homeless shelter organisation New York City Rescue Mission. The website for 'Make Them Visible' features beautiful portraits of actual homeless people in NYC and allows you to donate to help.
