So, today is my last day in Seattle WA before I head back to Australian shores. I've just spent the morning downtown, and once again, I was reminded how lucky Australia is to have such a vibrant street art scene. Walking around the streets of Seattle (and much of the West Coast of the US) the lack of easily accessible art, even just tags, is surprisingly apparent. You just don't have the privilege of stumbling across amazing artworks just by turning down a back street, much like I did several years ago when I first found out about Frank and Mimi.
Both accomplished artists in their own right, Rick as a sign writer and Emily as a fine artist, the true magic is when these two come together to tackle large scale public artworks. With a focus on environmental and social issues, beauty surrounds bold statements with incredible typography intermixed with natural wonderlands.
